USACC Releases Its 2007 Investment Guide to Azerbaijan

Annual Trade Publication Highlights the Myriad Opportunities in the World’s Fastest Growing Economy

Washington, D.C. (September 18, 2007) – The United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) has released the USACC Investment Guide to Azerbaijan 2007, its annual must-read publication for investors and business leaders.

In his welcoming statement for the Investment Guide, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev said, “Azerbaijan’s future depends on continuing to strengthen its economic potential. We believe in free trade and commercial relations with partners around the world. The USACC is a major player in helping establish such connections and cooperation.”

The Investment Guide covers a wide spectrum of topics, including: economic performance of the country in 2006-2007; the status of economic reforms; an overview of the existing legal environment, tax laws and customs regulations; updates on energy sector and regional projects; U.S.-Azerbaijan relations; and business opportunities in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan.

The Investment Guide also presents a historical and geopolitical synopsis of Azerbaijan, examines the political environment in the country, and provides the latest economic and demographic facts and figures for the country.

Regarded as the most useful handbook for any company interested in doing business in Azerbaijan, the publication has enjoyed considerable success in the last several years. This year, the USACC published 3,500 copies of the Investment Guide, which it distributes to top executives in the United States and Azerbaijan, as well as to key officials in foreign embassies, international organizations, banks, hotels, businesses and government offices in both countries and in Europe.

“The United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and its outstanding Investment Guide have become vital resources for companies seeking to do business with Azerbaijan,” USACC co-chairmen James A. Baker and Reza Vaziri said. “It has a place on every serious investor’s desk.”
