On April 28, Azerbaijan’s Silk Way West Airlines and the Boeing Company signed a new deal on the purchase of new Boeing 777 Freighters. The aircrafts are expected to be delivered between 2023 and 2027. The Boeing’s state-of-art 777 Freighters are the largest twin-engine aircraft with payload range of 5,400 statute miles and 230,000 lbs payload capacity.

The Silk Way West Airline’s recent purchase deal is in line with the company’s growth and sustainability plans. The new freighters will add more capacity to SWW’s deliveries and will open new avenues for further market expansion.

Silk Way West Airlines has been rapidly expanding the geographic reach of their network. With the global air freight market forecasted to grow more than 60% over the next 20 years, this new order bolsters their ability to meet trade and e-commerce demand in CIS, Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America. We are honored to partner with them and look forward to introducing the market-leading efficiency and capability of the 777 Freighter to its existing fleet of 747 Freighters” said Stan Deal, president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, during the signing ceremony held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

This year, Silk Way West Airlines received the prestigious “Cargo Airline of the Year 2020” award by South Korea's Incheon Airport. The company was recognized as the best air cargo company reaching 25,000 tons of international cargo turnover last year.

Join us on June 30, at 10 am EST to learn from SWW and Boeing experts about the future of air cargo logistics and what Boeing’s new freighters promise to the global air cargo industry.
