Where?

Azerbaijan Trade and Cultural Center

1212 Potomac Street, NW, Washington D.C, 20007

Join us for the grand opening, discover the artistry and skill behind each rug, and learn about the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. Various designs – from traditional to contemporary styles, will immerse you in the beauty and sophistication of Azerbaijani carpet weaving. We will have patterns from almost all primary Azerbaijani carpet-weaving schools – Ganja, Gazakh, Guba, Karabakh, Nakhchivan, and Shirvan.

Every woven rug is a masterpiece of women living in rural Azerbaijan. We brought those masterpieces to the nation's capital to expose you to the beauty and craftsmanship of Azerbaijani weaving and contribute to the empowerment of rural women weavers in Azerbaijan. By visiting our exhibition, you will also discover the stories and artistry hidden behind each rug.

USACC proudly partners with "Azerkhalcha" – a company that emerged as the largest employer of female workers and plays a critical role in promoting women's empowerment and gender equality in rural areas.

The partnership between the United States-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and "Azerkhalcha" will allow Americans to experience and appreciate Azerbaijani carpets' beauty and craftsmanship while supporting rural communities and women in Azerbaijan. In Azerbaijan, this partnership will contribute to the growth of the carpet industry and provide employment opportunities for women in rural areas, further contributing to their empowerment.
